Ordinary people

I don’t need to go anywhere,
I just need to say I was there.
You don’t need to see me,
You just need to be sure I am visible.
I don’t want to disappear,
I just don’t want to be present.
You don’t need to smash me,
You just need to break me into smaller pieces.
I don’t want to hurt you,
I just want to feel you are alive.
You don’t want to take my breath away,
You just want to see me dying.
I didn’t need to do that,
I just took my chance.
You didn’t need to accept that,
You just couldn’t resist.
We are what we are,
nothing extraordinary.
Hurting, dying, going, staying…
Ordinary people.
I just need to say I was there.
You don’t need to see me,
You just need to be sure I am visible.
I don’t want to disappear,
I just don’t want to be present.
You don’t need to smash me,
You just need to break me into smaller pieces.
I don’t want to hurt you,
I just want to feel you are alive.
You don’t want to take my breath away,
You just want to see me dying.
I didn’t need to do that,
I just took my chance.
You didn’t need to accept that,
You just couldn’t resist.
We are what we are,
nothing extraordinary.
Hurting, dying, going, staying…
Ordinary people.
